Menus and your data
Moontors’ menus are the system’s usual ones, with Moontors’ own items in the app menu on macOS and in Help. Everything else in Moontors is in its window. Its right-click menus are the Git view’s eight, on a branch, a remote branch, a tag, a commit, the working changes, a stash, a worktree and a file (see Menus), and the Files view’s editor’s own (see The editor). There are none on cards, sections, tabs or the transcript.
The menus
Section titled “The menus”On macOS, the Moontors menu holds:
- About Moontors: its version, the commit it was built from and when, and the third-party notices.
- Check for Updates…, which changes as an update comes (see Updates).
- Services, Hide Moontors, Hide Others, Show All, and Quit Moontors.
Then, on every system:
- File: Close Window on macOS, Exit on Windows, Quit on Linux.
- Edit: Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete and Select All, with Paste and Match Style and Speech on macOS.
- View: Reload, Force Reload, Toggle Developer Tools, Actual Size, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Toggle Full Screen.
- Window: Minimize and Zoom, with Bring All to Front on macOS, and Close elsewhere.
- Help:
- on macOS: Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Remove Moontors’ Data…;
- on Windows and Linux: About Moontors, Third-party notices (opened in your text editor), Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Check for Updates…, and Remove Moontors’ Data….

Removing Moontors’ data
Section titled “Removing Moontors’ data”Remove Moontors’ Data…, in Help, removes what Moontors keeps on your computer, then quits. It asks first, in a dialog that lists:
- what goes: it signs out of every agent, deletes the folders and files it lists, then quits Moontors;
- the worktrees whose changes aren’t committed, which are deleted with them;
- unsaved work it discards, such as files with unsaved edits and messages being written;
- “These stay:”: the branches Moontors made for worktree sessions, with the command that clears Git’s record of each worktree, and what each agent keeps for itself, by its name, such as Claude Code’s own file in your home folder. Where Codex’s sandbox setup made user accounts, a group and firewall rules on Windows, it says so, and Privacy policy opens the steps to remove them.
Remove and quit goes ahead, and Cancel keeps everything. While it works, it says “Signing out and removing…”.
- If an agent can’t sign out, the dialog names it, and Remove anyway goes on, deleting Moontors’ copy of its sign-in. That agent may stay signed in where Moontors couldn’t sign it out, such as with its vendor.
- If removing stops partway and a folder can’t be put back, Moontors says where it was set aside, and to rename it back.
What Moontors keeps, and where, is in the Privacy Policy.
Moving Moontors to Applications (macOS)
Section titled “Moving Moontors to Applications (macOS)”Opened from where it was downloaded, macOS runs Moontors from a temporary copy, which can’t keep its place or take an update. Moontors then asks to move itself to your Applications folder: Move to Applications moves it and opens it from there, and Not Now leaves it where it is, asking again the next time.
