Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the maker of Moontors (“we”, “us”) about your use of the Moontors desktop app (“Moontors”). By installing or using Moontors, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use Moontors.
Your license
Moontors is free to use today. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Moontors on computers you use, for your own work, personal or commercial.
You may not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of Moontors;
- distribute, sell, rent, lend or sublicense Moontors, or publish it for others to download;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows this despite these terms;
- remove or change its copyright notices.
Moontors includes open-source software, each part under its own license, which applies to that part. They are listed in the app’s Third-party notices.
Paid features
Moontors is free today. We may add paid features later. If we do, the free features you have won’t be taken away without notice, and anything paid will come with its own terms that you agree to first.
The agents, and your accounts with their vendors
Moontors runs AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI) made by Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. They are those companies’ products, and your use of them, your accounts with them (or with the cloud service you set an agent up with), and what they charge you are governed by their own terms. We aren’t part of that agreement and aren’t responsible for those services.
You are responsible for what your agents do
Agents read and change files, run commands, and can act on your computer and accounts. You choose which folders they work in, which permission mode they run with (including modes that let them act without asking, such as Bypass), and what you ask them to do. You are responsible for those choices and for what results from them. Review what agents do, keep backups, and don’t give an agent access you wouldn’t give a person.
No warranty
Moontors is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Early versions (below 1.0) are previews and may change or break.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from your use of Moontors or of the agents it runs, even if we were told they could happen. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Moontors, which today is nothing.
Updates and changes
Moontors checks GitHub for a new version when it starts and every 4 hours; there’s no setting to turn this off. Where it can install a new version itself, it downloads it in the background and installs it when you choose; where it can’t, it offers the version’s download page instead. Its Privacy Policy says what these checks send.
We may change these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. Continuing to use Moontors after a change means you accept it.
Ending
You can stop using Moontors at any time by uninstalling it; the Privacy Policy says how to remove everything it keeps. Your license ends if you break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
