# Moontors 0.8.0

Released October 31, 2026.

Moontors, the agentic development environment (ADE) for Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, now runs Claude Code 2.1.314, Codex 0.166.0 and Gemini CLI 0.66.0. This release brings Moontors accounts, with your settings synced between your computers, Moontors Pro coming soon, with your phone reaching your computer from anywhere and its notifications, **Profile** in the header, Codex on Vertex AI and its safety check's ways to continue, choices for what goes with a session you archive or delete, and images, PDFs and other files side by side in the Git view.

What's new:

- Moontors accounts: an account of Moontors' own, apart from your agents' sign-ins, and optional, as Moontors works as before without one. On **Profile**'s **Account** tab, or with **Moontors Account…** in the menu, **Sign in or create an account** opens Moontors' sign-in page in your browser: your email and a password, with an 8-digit code mailed to it to prove it's yours, or Google, Apple or GitHub, each of which you can link to the same account. Signed in, your plan shows beside the Moontors name in the header, and the tab shows your account's email with **Sign out**, its sign-in methods, your phones and **Delete account…**. See [Your Moontors account](https://moontors.com/docs/moontors-account/).
- Settings sync: signed in, your computers keep the same settings, each one you change on one reaching the others: **New Session**'s defaults for each agent, the agents' order and the quick actions, what the rephrase button and the Git view's network button do at a click, and saving in Files; never your projects, folders, presets, the board's layout, sign-ins or keys. Every account syncs, Free included; **Sync settings between your computers**, on the **Account** tab, turns it off for one computer. See [Settings sync](https://moontors.com/docs/moontors-account/#settings-sync).
- Moontors Pro is coming soon, for a Moontors account, at $20 a month or $200 a year, with tax added at checkout: your phone reaching your computer from anywhere, and your phone's notifications. **Profile**'s **Subscription** tab shows it, signed in or not, each **Upgrade** greyed with **Coming soon** beside it until it goes on sale. See [Pricing](https://moontors.com/#pricing) and [Pro](https://moontors.com/docs/moontors-account/#pro).
- With Pro, your phone reaches your computer from anywhere, with no VPN, through Moontors' relay, which passes the phone's encrypted link on without reading it. The phone tries your computer's own addresses first, and moves back to them once you're on the same network again; it pairs through the relay too, from the QR code. While you're signed in with a phone paired, Moontors' background service keeps running with the window closed, so the phone can reach it. The **Subscription** tab says whether this computer is reachable from anywhere and how much of the month's relay use your phones have taken, and the **Account** tab lists the phones on your account by computer, those of your other computers each with **Revoke**. See [Reaching your computer from anywhere](https://moontors.com/docs/moontors-account/#reaching-your-computer-from-anywhere).
- With Pro, the notifications Moontors gives you on your computer reach each paired phone that doesn't have the app open, a group's as one, and tapping one opens its session. The phone asks once to show them, when your computer turns them on; where your phone's settings have them off, its board says so, with **Open Settings**. Each is worded on your computer and sealed for that phone alone, so Moontors' server, and Google and Apple, which carry it, can't read it. See [Notifications](https://moontors.com/docs/sessions-and-board/#notifications).
- **Profile**, the person icon at the right of the header with its usage rings, in place of **Accounts**, shows **Profile** in the board's place, on three tabs: **Providers**, your agents' sign-ins, as **Accounts** showed them, then your Moontors **Account** and its **Subscription**. The icon again, or Escape, goes back to the board. The tabs in **Settings**, **Profile**, an agent's setup and a question are a size bigger. See [Providers](https://moontors.com/docs/sign-in/#providers).
- Codex signs in to Google Cloud's Vertex AI, as Claude Code and Gemini CLI do: **Sign in with Vertex AI** offers your gcloud sign-in, the credential file your environment names or one you choose, with your project, and `global` as the location. Codex checks it through gcloud, so gcloud must be installed, and takes no API key. Moontors hasn't tried it against a real Google Cloud project. See [Ways to sign in](https://moontors.com/docs/sign-in/#ways-to-sign-in).
- With Codex 0.166.0, a conversation goes on only through the sign-in it began on: one begun with ChatGPT or an API key doesn't continue on Amazon Bedrock, nor one begun on Bedrock on ChatGPT or a key, and the session says so until you sign in as it began. **Providers** shows the ChatGPT workspace Codex works in as its organization, where Codex names one. See [Known limits](https://moontors.com/docs/known-limits/#sign-in-and-accounts).
- `/branch` and **Branch from before this prompt** work with Codex too, starting a new session from before one of your prompts, and with Codex even from before a compaction. See [The built-in commands](https://moontors.com/docs/conversation-commands/#the-built-in-commands).
- When Codex's safety check stops a turn it judges could lead to harm in biology or cybersecurity, the transcript says so in Moontors' own words, with what the turn touched on, and **Ways to continue** offers the safer requests Codex suggests: choosing one starts a new session from before the stopped turn and sends it there, on your computer and the phone. See [When the agent's safety check stops a turn](https://moontors.com/docs/sessions-transcript/#when-the-agents-safety-check-stops-a-turn).
- Codex's `/memories` shows, after its switches, the summary of its memories Codex reads into the conversation, read only, while the session's agent runs, once Codex has made one. See [The agent's own lists](https://moontors.com/docs/configuration/#the-agents-own-lists).
- Claude Code's `/upgrade`, with a Claude plan billed through the App Store or Google Play, opens nothing and says where to change the plan instead, as Claude Code 2.1.314 does. See [The commands list](https://moontors.com/docs/conversation-commands/#the-commands-list).
- **Archive** and **Delete** each ask in one dialog, showing only what applies: what stops, the agent, anything in its queue, its background tasks, unsaved edits and the terminals it ends, each by name; and for a session with a worktree of its own, a box for each thing that can go with it, its uncommitted changes, listed, the worktree, its branch and the branch on its remote, each saying what it would lose. Nothing that loses work is ticked for you, and the button names every loss it takes, such as discarding 3 changes. A worktree another session or project works in is kept for it, and programs with a folder open inside it, such as an editor, are named. A worktree you keep stays with the archived session: **Archived** says where it is, and **Retry** deletes a remote branch git couldn't. The phone asks the same, in a sheet. See [Archiving and deleting](https://moontors.com/docs/archiving-and-deleting/) and [Worktrees](https://moontors.com/docs/worktrees/#archiving).
- The Git view shows an image, an SVG, a PDF, a font, a video or a sound side by side, the old on the left and the new on the right, each in the preview Files gives it: two images at one scale on a checkerboard, zooming together, and a PDF page by page, each page beside the other side's, scrolling together. A file renamed, copied or made executable with nothing in it changed says what changed in place of its lines, and a renamed file's name reads old path → new path. See [Git](https://moontors.com/docs/diff-and-files/#git).
- A notification now comes while Moontors has the focus too, except for the session you're looking at in that window. A notification group can have a name: type it beside **Apply**, and its notification says the name and how many sessions finished. See [Notifications](https://moontors.com/docs/sessions-and-board/#notifications).
- An answered question's row starts open, showing what was asked with your answers marked, on your computer and the phone; click or tap it to close it. A question's **Other** and **Notes** take as many lines as you need, on both. See [Questions](https://moontors.com/docs/questions-and-plans/#questions).
- One Moontors icon: the app's icon art is the Moontors mark on moontors.com's tab and home-screen icons, Moontors' sign-in pages and mails, and the phone's pairing card, the moon staying beside the Moontors name in the headers. On macOS 26 the app's icon is the system's own kind, the art filling its shape where it stood shrunk on a grey plate, and the installer's window is Moontors'; on Windows and Linux the art fills a rounded square, at every size the system asks for, as large as the icons beside it, and the .deb's icon now shows in GNOME.
- **Remove Moontors' Data…** signs this computer out of your Moontors account too, leaving the account as it is. See [Removing Moontors' data](https://moontors.com/docs/menus-and-your-data/#removing-moontors-data).
- On the phone, the message box goes back to one line once a message of several lines is sent. The phone lets its connection to your computer go about a minute after you leave the app, and connects again at once when you're back. See [Limits](https://moontors.com/docs/phone/#limits).
- On moontors.com: [Pricing](https://moontors.com/#pricing), the [Refund Policy](https://moontors.com/policies/refund/), the Terms of Use's lines for Pro and the Privacy Policy's for your Moontors account; and each guide's last-updated date shows again.
- Fixed: in a window too narrow for the board and a session side by side, what **Archived**, **Settings** and **Profile** show comes in front of the session, which comes back once you close it, where they showed nothing. See [The header](https://moontors.com/docs/window/#the-header).
- Fixed: **Allow for this session** on a call Claude Code's own review denied lets the call through: Claude Code takes the rule at once in the running turn, or as the agent starts again, then tries the call again. See [Allow for this session](https://moontors.com/docs/permission-modes/#allow-for-this-session).
- Fixed: on Linux, a command Claude Code runs in its own context, such as `/code-review`, shows its steps as Claude Code writes them, where on a busy computer they could wait until the turn's end.

The Windows and Linux builds still aren't signed, so Windows asks once before Moontors opens. The README's "First launch" and "Updates" sections say what to expect on each platform.
