# A Paradev (Superset) alternative for Windows and Android

Paradev, [called Superset until October 26, 2026](https://paradev.com/blog/a-new-name), is a
desktop app for running coding agents side by side, each task in its own workspace with a git
worktree, branch, terminals and ports, on macOS, with an
[experimental Linux build](https://docs.paradev.com/install). Moontors is an agentic development
environment (ADE) that runs Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI side by side, each through its own
protocol, on macOS, Windows and Linux, with a phone app for Android and iPhone.

## What each has that the other doesn't

Paradev:

- its [source on GitHub](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev), under the
  [Elastic License 2.0](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev/blob/main/LICENSE.md);
- [any command-line agent](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev#supported-agents), with 21 listed,
  not only three;
- a [browser pane](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev) for previewing your app, where you can
  pick an element and send a change to an agent;
- workspaces on other machines, through
  [remote access](https://docs.paradev.com/remote-access), and
  [cloud workspaces](https://paradev.com/pricing), in beta, on its Team plan;
- [automations](https://docs.paradev.com/automations) that start an agent on a schedule, or when
  something happens in GitHub, Slack, Linear, Sentry, Notion, Microsoft Teams or a webhook;
- pull requests reviewed in the app, with
  [line comments sent back to the agent and CI checks](https://paradev.com/blog/a-new-name);
- an [iPad app](https://docs.paradev.com/install#iphone-and-ipad), with Paradev Pro;
- a [CLI, an SDK and an MCP server](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev) that create its
  workspaces and start agents in them, from a script or from an agent;
- on its Enterprise plan, [SAML SSO, audit logs and a SOC 2 Type II report](https://paradev.com/pricing).

Moontors:

- Windows, where Paradev is [not yet available](https://docs.paradev.com/install), and Linux as a
  release like the others, where Paradev's build is
  [experimental](https://docs.paradev.com/install);
- every agent in Moontors' own views, the only way it shows them, Gemini CLI's too, where
  Paradev's [Chat UI](https://docs.paradev.com/chat), not yet open to everyone, doesn't cover
  Gemini CLI, which runs in a terminal;
- an app for Android and iPhone, on [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moontors.mobile) and [the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6824488067), that follows and answers your computer's own sessions over a link encrypted end to end, which no Moontors server can read, free, where Paradev's
  [needs Paradev Pro, and Android is still a waitlist](https://docs.paradev.com/install#iphone-and-ipad);
- no account to make, and Moontors itself sends no telemetry; each agent's own usage data follows that agent's settings.

## Where Paradev (Superset) is the better fit

- You want to read and change the app's source.
- You use agents beyond Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI.
- Your agents run on other machines or in the cloud, or start on a schedule or an event.
- Your team works through Linear or Slack, or needs SSO, audit logs and a SOC 2 report.
- You want a browser beside the agents.

## Questions

### Is Paradev the same as Superset?

Yes. Superset [became Paradev on October 26, 2026](https://paradev.com/blog/a-new-name), with the
same app, accounts and workspaces under a new name, logo, website and email domain, and every
superset.sh page sending you to the same page on paradev.com.

### What's the difference between Moontors and Paradev?

Both run several coding agents at once and keep them running after you quit the app: Paradev in a
[background terminal daemon](https://docs.paradev.com/keep-agents-running), Moontors in a background
service. Paradev runs
[any command-line agent](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev#supported-agents) in a terminal, each
workspace in its own git worktree, on macOS and, [experimentally, Linux](https://docs.paradev.com/install).
Moontors drives Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI through each one's own protocol, so their
permission requests, models and commands appear in Moontors' own views, on macOS, Windows and
Linux, and gives a session its own git worktree when you ask for one.

### Does Paradev run on Windows?

Not yet. Paradev's [install page](https://docs.paradev.com/install) lists macOS, on Apple silicon or
Intel, and an experimental Linux AppImage for x64, and says Windows isn't available yet. Moontors
runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.

### Does Paradev need an account?

Yes. Paradev's desktop app
[asks you to sign in](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev/blob/desktop-v2.0.0/apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/layout.tsx),
with [GitHub or Google](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev/blob/desktop-v2.0.0/apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/sign-in/page.tsx),
and to make or pick an organisation before it opens a workspace, and its
[phone app and remote access](https://docs.paradev.com/remote-access) take the same account. Its
[privacy policy](https://paradev.com/privacy) says the usage data it collects goes to analytics
providers such as PostHog with your account's name and email. Moontors needs no Moontors account.
Moontors itself sends no telemetry; each agent's own usage data follows that agent's settings.

### Is there an app for my phone?

Both have one: Paradev's [iPhone and iPad app](https://docs.paradev.com/install#iphone-and-ipad)
needs Paradev Pro and iOS 26, and Android is still a waitlist. Moontors' app, for Android and
iPhone, is free on Google Play and the App Store, and follows and answers your computer's own
sessions over a link encrypted end to end, which no Moontors server can read; reaching your computer
from anywhere, through Moontors' relay, comes with Moontors Pro.

### Is Paradev open source?

It's source-available. Paradev's code is public under the
[Elastic License 2.0](https://github.com/ParadevAI/Paradev/blob/main/LICENSE.md), which lets you
use, change and share it, but not offer it to others as a hosted service. Moontors is free, but
closed source.
