# A Conductor alternative for Windows and Linux

Conductor [runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode in parallel](https://www.conductor.build/docs),
each task in its own workspace, on a Mac or, with its paid plans,
[in the cloud](https://www.conductor.build/docs/cloud/faq). Moontors is an agentic development
environment (ADE) that runs Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI side by side on macOS, Windows and
Linux.

## What each has that the other doesn't

Conductor:

- [cloud workspaces](https://www.conductor.build/docs/cloud/faq) that keep working when you close
  the Conductor app;
- workspaces [shared live with teammates](https://www.conductor.build/pricing) on its paid plans;
- an [iOS app](https://www.conductor.build/changelog/0.90.0-conductor-for-ios) for chatting with agents in cloud workspaces and merging their pull requests;
- a [diff viewer](https://www.conductor.build/docs/guides/review-and-merge) with comments that go
  back to the agent, CI checks, pull requests and merging;
- [Graphite stacks](https://www.conductor.build/changelog/0.32.0-github-issues-graphite-stacks-continue-chats-table-of-contents)
  in its sidebar;
- [checkpoints](https://www.conductor.build/docs/reference/checkpoints) to revert an agent's turn;
- an [HTTP API](https://www.conductor.build/docs/api);
- workspaces started from [GitHub or Linear issues](https://www.conductor.build/docs/guides/issue-to-pr);
- [Cursor and OpenCode](https://www.conductor.build/docs/reference/harnesses) as agents.

Moontors:

- Windows and Linux, as well as macOS;
- Gemini CLI beside Claude Code and Codex;
- local sessions that keep working after you quit the app, in a background service;
- an Android app on [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moontors.mobile) that follows and answers your computer's own sessions, end to end, with no Moontors server between them; the iPhone's coming soon;
- no Moontors servers.

## Where Conductor is the better fit

- You work on a Mac and want agents to run in the cloud, and to follow them from an iPhone.
- You want to share workspaces and prompt agents together with your team.
- Your work runs through GitHub pull requests, and you want CI checks and merging in the same app.
- You use Cursor or OpenCode as agents.

## Questions

### Is there a Conductor alternative for Windows and Linux?

Moontors runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, where Conductor is
[not yet on Windows or Linux](https://www.conductor.build/docs/installation). Both run several
coding agents at once, and both run Claude Code and Codex,
[in Conductor's case](https://www.conductor.build/docs/reference/harnesses) beside Cursor and
OpenCode. Conductor gives each workspace
[its own git worktree](https://www.conductor.build/docs/concepts/git-worktrees); Moontors gives a
session one when you ask for it.

### Do the agents keep working when the app is closed?

In Moontors, yes: a background service keeps every session working after you quit the app. In
Conductor, [local sessions end](https://www.conductor.build/docs/cloud/faq) when you close the app,
and its cloud workspaces carry on.

### Does Moontors have cloud workspaces?

No. Moontors runs your sessions on your own computer, with no Moontors servers. Conductor's
[cloud workspaces](https://www.conductor.build/docs/cloud/faq) come with its Pro, Teams and
Enterprise plans.

### What does Moontors cost?

Nothing, and it needs no Moontors account. You sign in to each agent with your own plan or API
key. Conductor is [free for local workspaces](https://www.conductor.build/pricing).
